Krow Oil Instructions - 1

Using Krow Oil for stretch

By applying a couple of ounces of Krow-Oil to an average deer cape, you will get incredible stretch. Just recently I mounted a 19" cape on a 22" form with no drumming anywhere and without any pins or brands what-so-ever. 2-3 inches of stretch should be common. You should be able to get as much stretch as a green cape with the advantages of tanned cape. The procedure is simple; after you have done your final fleshing and the cape is ready to mount, apply a LIGHT (2-3 oz. per average cape) coat of Krow-Oil on the skin from behind the ears to the start of the brisket. Do not put any oil on the face. Let the skin stay folded up skin-to-skin for a couple hours. You can either mount it now or freeze the cape to mount it later. I prefer to dextrin or water base hide paste with Krowtann. Epoxy hide paste reacts with Krowtann. This method can also be used on all your small game to give super stretch.
